Liberty County
Liberty County is located in the panhandle of Florida. With a population below 8,000, Liberty County is the least populated county in the state of Florida. More than half the county is occupied by the Apalachiocola National Forest. The law enforcement responsible for enforcing the laws of the county is the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff’s office works with the Florida Highway Patrol when it comes to ensuring the traffic laws of the county
Although the county is small, Florida Highway Patrol is still very aggressive when it comes to catching as many motorists as possible. Last year over 1.000 moving violations were issued. The main thing that caused Florida Highway Patrol to stop people where people who were driving above the posted speed limits.
The county seat, where one will find the courthouse, is Bristol. Liberty County is part of the 2nd Judicial Circuit and has one county judge.
